* Gothic *
Gothic fashion uses dark colors to give a mysterious and ghostly look. People who usually dress gothic listen to gothic music as well. The style includes black hair, paisty skin, dark makeup and dark clothing. Lots of black. For gothic fashion inspiration, you can look at Morticia Adams, Mana, and Siouxsie Sioux.
* Lolita *
Lolita is a Japanese fashion inspired by Victorian-era clothing. It started because women wanted to dress opposing men's opinions. The style uses peticoats, bows, lace, and ruffles. There are different sub styles in Lolita. For example, you can be a gothic lolita. For lolita inspiration, look for Imai Kira, Kanon Wakeshima, and Mana.
* Gyaru *
Gyaru is a japanese fashion subculture. The look of gyaru is the fake tanned skin, big blonde hair and rebellious outfits. It came into popularity because it was a way to rebel Japan's traditional beauty standards. Some key motifs are exaggerated makeup, animal print, and many accessories. However there are many different of Gyaru you can be. For Gyaru inspiration, look at Tsubasa Masuwaka, Sakurina, and Nana Suzuki. Gyaru can be controversial because sometimes people push into black face and appropriate African American culture.
* Emo *
Emo fashion consists of skinny jeans, band tees, and Converse. Some accessories commonly used are arm and leg warmers, studded belts, and rubber bracelets. They commonly use black and really bright colors such as red, neon green and neon pink. Dont forget about the facial piercings. Emo is about expressing emotion through your clothing. People you can look at are early 2000's Avril Lavigne, Audrey Kitching, and Dani Gore
* McBling *
McBling is a style that emphasizes on a lot of pink and gold. The aesthetic was born around 2004, with MySpace and shows like Paris Hilton's "The Simple Life". McBling ended around the 2008 recession when people could not keep buying extravagant clothes and accessories. The style uses maximalism and a lot of bling. Popular brands that were consistantly used were Juicy Couture, Playboy, and Ed Hardy. Famous people who wore McBling were Paris Hilton (the pioneer of the style), Britney Spears, and Nicole Richie.
